Alice Robertson

From Calobe Jackson, Jr., 25July 2007

George,

I just read the recent letters from Mullen and Quarles. I have a lot of information about Cooper and Maude Coleman, including location of her daughter's grave in Lincoln Cemetery. As your posting are picked up by Google, more people are filling in the missing links.

You may remember the Harvard professor and Harvard Liberian who were looking for information on Alice Robertson, who taught here (1871-1892) before going back to college and becoming a Prof. of Marine Biology at Wellesley. After much research I found that her ashes are buried in Harrisburg Cemetery.  Her name was originally found from a Google search of Afrolumens by the Harvard group.
